In describing the plans of God, Paul uses the Greek word koinonia, which is where the English word “economy” comes from. Paul goes on to explain that things are very different in the economy of God — all people are equal, and everyone is invited. Freedom can be known and experienced. And this invitation to freedom comes from a guy in prison writing about a crucified messiah — things are different in the economy of God. In God’s economy all of humanity has become one humanity and we are all in this together. And God has chosen to use the church, the representation of the new economy in the midst of the old, to put the ruling authorities, both spiritual and physical, on notice — there is a new way to be human. Join us this week as consider reality as explained in Ephesians, chapter 3.
