In Matthew’s gospel it’s recorded that when Jesus first crossed paths with those who later become his disciples, he said to them, “Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men” (4.19). Now, this is an amazing statement when we take into consideration the incarnation and the fact that, as theologian Richard Rohr says, Jesus doesn’t say to these men: “Come and worship me.” No. He says to them, “Come and follow me.” So, in short, Jesus reveals to us that there is not just something God wants us to receive, but there is also path God wants us to follow; a path that will help us become who we were made to become.
Join us this Sunday as we explore further this path that Jesus leads us on and who it is we are called to become, in our new series: Left Foot, Right Foot.
