By devotion we mean spending time with Jesus and growing in our personal relationship with Him but devotion doesn’t stop there. It means that in all we do we consider how it will impact him/us. Just as in a marriage we consider our partner in the decisions we make and the things we do. We are devoted to their welfare because we love them and we are devoted to His welfare because we love Him. Devotion more than a specific time of prayer and Bible reading, it’s a life style
To abide with Him in all things is what the Old Testament calls ‘walking with God.’ Devotion might start with specific times of prayer and reading of the Bible but it will spill out into our everyday lives. The goal of a devotion time is to continue being in the presence of Jesus throughout our day.
