Jewell update - 8/08

Hi dear friends,

I hope you are doing well! I am just swell, this summer is going quite fast. I just celebrated the opening ceremony of the Olympics last Friday night. I don't know if you got a chance to watch or what you thought, but I loved it! I felt very proud of China and enjoyed celebrating with friends and hundreds of locals as China entered the stadium...the roar of the crowd was amazing. I felt like a local that night...it was great. I get to go to one Olympic event, field hockey, I'm excited because I get to take my Chinese brother. I think I have mentioned him before, the guy I met at Tianamen back during the Chinese new year. Well he came back for the summer to stay with his parents who migrated here awhile go. He has gotten involved in a local fellowship too.

I am moving once again. This time to the border of the DPRK and Russia...brr thats all I can say:) No, I'm actually excited about this. I think it will be a time of maturing in the Father on a deeper level than ever before. This move is very similar to when when I moved to China a year and a half ago. When I came here I knew only one person and really had no idea what all I was getting myself into...this move I only know one person and really don't know what all I am getting into:) But I know that the Father said go, so thats what I'm doing. I am nervous about many things but know that the Ld will be right there with me and it will be alright.

In the meantime I just try to enjoy each day I have left in Beijing hanging out with friends, going to all my favorite spots and learning more about the Father's heart for this place.

My parents are coming for a visit before I move up north. This will be their first time overseas. Should be quite an experience. I'm excited as they told me that they want to see some tourist things, but mainly want to see what I've been doing here, meeting my friends, fellowship and learning about all the work that the Ld is doing, my parents are awesome.

I finished up with my last Chinese lesson the other week, as work got a bit busier with me preparing to leave. It was a sad day for me, I really liked meeting with my tutor, she became a good friend. We have stayed in touch though and I know I will even after I leave China. Please continue to lift her up as she is still seeking.
