Jax Beaches Young People's Group of A.A. (affectionately known to our members and the A.A. community as Jax Beaches Y.P.G.) meets every Thursday at 8 PM for a closed literature study and Saturday at 6:30 PM for open discussion. The last Saturday of every month is an open Speaker meeting. Closed meetings attendance is limited to those that identify themselves as either alcoholic or think they may have a problem with alcohol. Open meetings are open to anyone who is interested in finding out more about Alcoholics Anonymous. However, participation is limited to those that consider themselves to be A.A. members.
The goal of the Jax Beaches YPG is to provide a meeting place and fellowship for alcoholics of any age. While we are considered to be a young people's group, our membership includes those that range in age from their teens to those in their forties and beyond. We are open to anyone who wishes to recover from that seemingly hopeless state of mind and body that alcoholism produces.
We are not a glum lot! Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allies with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety.
