BEAM is an independent, non-profit, ecumenical service center dedicated to providing short-term social services for residents (children, senior citizens, and adults) of the Beaches and West Beaches. BEAM provides effective and coordinated social outreach to help residents through periods of financial crisis with the goal of assisting them to become functional, economically productive, self-reliant, and fulfilled in their lives. BEAM does more than just pay bills for residents in their time of need. BEAM’s efforts are focused on helping families stay together in their homes, thus preventing homelessness, while encouraging them to accept responsibility and take charge of their lives. BEAM tries to help stabilize emergency situations by working closely with other agencies when possible and also by giving extensive referrals for assistance.
